EPC is one of the most important Brussels think-factories which deal with EU problems. The Activity field is the analysis and support of discussion and reflexion about the dominating subjects of the union agenda.
In this area the EPC works with three main programmes: The EU Integration and Citizenship, Europe’s Political Economy and Europe in the World. This approach integrates the members of EPC and creates a respectable connection between the foundation of the programmes and the EU politics. – The members are involved actively in the creation and the conversion of different possibilities.
Public debates are also a field of work of EPC. – And EPC is also concentrated itself upon the so-called Stakeholder-consultation. – It is a matter of taking up needs before the introduction of new EU legislations. To guarantee an effectiveness, the must require these debates without confrontation. -Â It also means giving stakeholders opportunities to hear directly from top policy-makers and question them on their activities.
EBPC offers by their own politics, briefings, seminars and conferences new possibilities to their members. The organisation brings their members together with important policy-makers and experts to discussion of questions with different meaning for the EU. – EPC has more than 400 members, coming from all the different stakeholder groups.
Another activity of EPC is the rapidly expert’s analysis. On the web page of EPC are offered analyses and reflexions, which users also can get in printed form. They are available by detailed Working Papers, Issue Papers, shorter Policy of letter and comments, as well as the multi-author’s magazine Challenge Europe. – Also the user can find reports about public EPC-events on the EPC-website. In addition, these are spread to the members.
EPC Working programme definition: – EPC works on the basic base of a three-years-strategy plan. This plan is provided by a management team and approved by the administrative council. To the end of the year the administrative council decides on an annual working programme for the next years. The basis for the working programmes is proposals and discussions of the management team in the advisory board.
